THE 5TH INSTALLMENT OF AN ONGOING SERIES ON HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PLTW CIM CURICULUM

The fifth PDP session for the 2015-16 school year was held last night. In this one, Chris talks about the CAD/CAM Process. No matter what you use for CAD software, or CAM software the process is the same. This 27 minute segment takes you through the CAD-CAM process, and shows you how to make profiles, holes and pockets.

ALMOST FORGOT THE SOFTWARE!

Oops! Almost forgot to talk about the software!  Thanks for the reminder Jim. In this hour long video (with very poor sound quality) We discuss PLTW software, how to download it, how to install it and a guide to where to get all the resources. The picture here is an SSC-32U, the controller for a Lynxmotion Robotic Arm, because we cap off the session with an intro to this including how to build, how to wire, and how to connect to software.  Below is an outline of the topics discussed, and some links for resources!

2015-16 PDP #7: Designing the Container

WHAT ARE THE DESIGN PARAMETERS FOR THIS PROJECT?

The seventh PDP session for the 2015-16 school year was held last night. In this one, Jim and I discuss the design parameters for the cnc container project in the PLTW CIM currriculum lesson 2.3. In this video we discuss swapping lessons 2 & 3 around in the PLTW CIM course, and reasons why you may want to do that, as well.

The sixth PDP session for the 2015-16 school year was held last night. In this one, Jim shows us how to set up and machine the flange from PLTW Lesson 2.3 (Practice Machining Activity) using HSM right inside Inventor. This video goes from Set up to producing NC code for your machine.
